Ready to practice yoga? There is no time like this moment, we love beginners. Here's some things you need to know to make your experience more comfortable!
When do I arrive?
We recommend you arrive 15 minutes before class to find parking, check in and find a space for your mat. Doors will lock 5 minutes after class starts so arrive early.
Where do I park?
There is street parking on Biddle and Sycamore Street, there is also a parking lot located behind the building.
Can I eat before class?
It is recommended you eat a light snack such as fruit, yogurt or a small energy bar 2 hours prior to class. Try to stay away from eating a large meal 3 hours before class. Yoga on a full stomach is not too fun.
How much water should I drink?
Stay hydrated! Please arrive hydrated we recommend 12 ounces within an hour before class to minimize de-hydration. Water is definitely needed during class so feel free to bring a bottle to class. It is also recommended to drink another 16 ounces after class coconut water is an excellent way to replenish your body.
What do I wear?
We recommend you wear workout or yoga apparel that is synthetic when possible, cotton tends to get heavy when wet.
What do I bring?
An open mind and willingness to learn something new! Also please bring a mat, a small towel and a water bottle to class. Mat's are available to purchase at the studio and there is a water fountain on site to refill bottles.
What if I start to feel dizzy during class?
Sometimes as you release and start detoxing the body in active yoga classes you may find you get dizzy. This is normal, vinyasa based classes are central to deep breathing and the breath acts like a pump clearing out old energy. Always listen to your body and rest on your mat, it passes quickly and you can re-join the practice when your ready.
What are the benefits of a hot yoga class?
You will experience deeper and safer levels of stretching with less risk of injury. It is detoxifying and cleansing both mentally and physically to sweat. It provides a powerful environment for your yoga journey, we promise!
What kind of results will I see physically?
Yoga practioners with a regular practice will see an increase in muscle tone and definition, stamina, strength, flexibility and overall health. Hot yoga combined with deep breathing fires up the internal organs resulting in increased metabolism. In short practicing 1x a week will change your outlook, practicing 2-3x a week will change your body, practice 4-5x a week will change your life.
